Design a koi fish mask at the Japanese Friendship Garden.

Check out creepy crawly hissing cockroaches, or participate in toddler-themed activities taking place in the newly renovated Kid City exhibition at the Reuben H. Fleet Science Center. Enjoy free child admission (17 and under) with paid adult all day, 10am–7pm.

Families visiting the San Diego Air & Space Museum will get to create alien-themed kites and fly them with kid-power. Stay for the alien-pumpkin drop at 1:45pm. Kids 17 and under are FREE with a paid adult admission (limit four kids).

Have fun building and decorating a glow-in-the-dark spooky steam engine at the San Diego Railroad Museum. Children can also participate in the annual Halloween museum scavenger hunt. Candy will be handed out.

The San Diego Museum of Man celebrates Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) with a Spooky Tour at 1:00 and 2:00pm in the museum’s Egyptian mummy collection. Crafts and activities include building miniature altars, decorating sugar skulls, skull masks, and papel picacado.

The Reuben H. Fleet Science Center offers FREE admission for grandparents and grandchildren on Sunday.  This hands-on museum is fun for kids of all ages and a terrific place to let them explore and build.

A few of the popular exhibits at the museum include:
